Non-Fiction Book Club In-Person
Tired of fiction? Are you ready to get REAL? Then join us for the new Non-Fiction Book Club at Ellsworth Public Library! Discuss your favorite non-fiction books, meet other non-fiction lovers, and help us decide what we will be reading for the coming year. This book club will be run by one of our patrons, Roseanna Rich, and will only be meeting in person.
About Roseanna Rich's Motivation to start this book club:
My Father always had a book with him, in his hand, in the car, in his pocket. I never saw him without a book.” He did not just love reading, it was his second career. His example spoke volumes. He did not have to say, “why not get a book and read on this rainy day?” He was just himself - reading. My Father preferred reading over TV. This was a very big deal in the 50s because TV in the 50s was a novelty. He loved stories where he “could set the stage.”
So I became a reader.
Not just because of the school’s annual “summer reading list” but because my own active imagination bloomed!
Libraries became one of my favorite places of wonder!
Somewhere, sometime, I shifted gears and became fascinated with the “real”!
Non-fiction? – what a novel idea?
I am an Ellsworth resident and invite you to spend an hour and a half with me monthly at the Ellsworth Library – a FABULOUS place to meet discussing the real!
Hope to see you September 11,
Roseanna
