Summer Reading Kick-Off In-Person
Summer is here, and we’re launching six weeks of reading adventures, creative challenges, and community fun! This year’s theme is Level Up, and our kick-off event—Level Up Your Story—celebrates your unique journey and the power of understanding others' stories too. Come spend a magical morning with lawn games, an outdoor scavenger hunt, and of course, snacks (because every good quest needs fuel!).
Design Your Own Dragon (and Friends)
Step into your story and create your very own Reading Dragon character! Who are you in your tale—a superhero dragon rider, a misunderstood sea creature, a time-traveling inventor? Design a companion creature like a Kraken, unicorn, robot sidekick—or something entirely original—to join you on your adventure.
You can decorate your design at the library during the event or take it home to finish. Return your completed artwork by July 21 to enter our community vote.
The winning designs will be announced at the end of August and become part of our official Reading Dragon Families—to be shared with everyone this October!
