September Art Show: Terre Lefferts In-Person

Terre Lefferts has been drawing and painting for most of her life, and professionally since the 1980s. She is drawn to the beauty of Maine’s pastoral and coastal settings. Her work has been exhibited in several New England galleries, including John Edwards in Ellsworth, Duck Trap Bay Trading Company (formerly in Camden), Cry of the Loon in Casco, and Belvoir Gallery in Millbrook, NY.
Since returning to Maine in 2021, she has had solo exhibits in Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor, as well as several in northwest Connecticut. Her affiliations have included Von Maassen Interiors in Amenia, NY; Judith Hardenbrook painted furniture in Biddeford, ME; the Farnsworth Museum Gift Shop in Rockland; It’s Ornamental; Redding Road House (40-foot mural) in Redding, CT; and Joanna’s Designs in Greenwich, CT. She has also painted theater backdrops for productions such as Peter & the Wolf, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Peer Gynt, and Coppélia, stemming from her earlier career as a ballet dancer.
She has studied art with Samir Barber, Betty Taylor, David Dunlop, Chris Morrell, Susan Godwin, and John Lundquist, as well as at the Museum School of Art in Boston, MA.
Lefferts accepts commissions and typically works in oils or pastels. She can be reached at terrelefferts@yahoo.com or 860-435-0723, and more of her work can be viewed at TerreLefferts.com.
