Deed Research Workshop with Kelly Bellis In-Person
Deeds contain an amazing amount of historical and familial information, often arcane and densely packed. Their spatial aspects are essential in the visualization of the stories so neatly encapsulated and preserved in map and deed.
The purpose and focus of this workshop are limited to those interested in performing local history and genealogical research using deeds. It is not intended as a legal primer or a text for understanding the complex laws and rules relating to surveying and conveyancing. For that, you should consult a licensed land surveyor and an attorney experienced in real estate.
Partners: Kelly Bellis (presenter) Ellsworth Historical Society, Hancock County Genealogical Society
