Jane Austen: Frump or Fashionista In-Person

Dee Rieber of DeAnna Denise Couture designs, will explore Jane’s fashion “sense and sensibility” as evidenced through her personal letters and novels. The talk will be followed by a fashion show of Regency styles and tea party. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dee Rieber is the Downeast Program Coordinator for Jane Austen Society of North America (YASNA) Maine: JASNA ME began meeting in 1979. In 1980, it became an official region of JASNA. They currently have around 80 members and many more “friends” on their mailing list. Meetings are held three times a year, in April, September, and December. The December meeting includes cake and a birthday toast to Jane Austen. JASNA ME also toast the Queen for good measure. jasnamaine.org
