Artist Reception: Aimee Barnes
Aimee Barnes is an Ellsworth, Maine-based photographer and visual artist, whose specialties include, nature photography, pet portraiture, and artistic photography. Born and raised in Downeast Maine, she has been experimenting with photography and other arts since around the age of three.
Over the years she has done a bit of everything, from block printing to Japanese Sumi-E painting, and has most recently begun working with acrylics. Aimee is also a lifelong seamstress and quilter, and resides on her family’s 200-year-old farm. Her inspirations include Claude Monet, Dorothea Lange, Matthew Brady, Alfred Stieglitz, and her wonderful friends and mentors, artists Heather Lyon and Sam Jones.
Her newest project, The Essence of Water, centers on the many forms water takes and effects of light and movement acting upon them.
