DESCRIPTION:Meet the artist behind this month's exhibition: Karen L. 
 Baron.\n\nA lifelong resident of Ellsworth\, Maine\, Karen earned a 
 Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of 
 Maine in Orono. Following her studies\, she worked for two seasons as a 
 park ranger at Acadia National Park. In 1985\, she began her banking career 
 with the First National Bank of Bar Harbor\, starting as a teller and 
 eventually advancing to Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer. She 
 later decided to step away from her banking career to raise her 
 son.\n\nDuring this time\, she built a successful cake business\, supplying 
 wedding cakes to several inns and hotels on Mt. Desert Island\, while also 
 pursuing her passion for watercolor painting. She studied with local 
 instructors and attended various workshops to refine her skills. In 2016\, 
 she entered her first Bangor Art Society Open Juried Art Show\, where she 
 won 1st place in the watercolor division with her piece "Sullivan Harbor." 
 This achievement inspired her to work even harder\, leading to several 
 additional awards for her artwork in the years that followed.
