DESCRIPTION:Let’s keep the Ellsworth Public Library 
 strong—together.\n\nOne easy way to do that is by joining the Friends of 
 the Ellsworth Public Library. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of 
 volunteers dedicated to advocating for the Library and supporting the 
 operations of the library beyond city funding.\n\nIn 2025\, the library’s 
 online streaming subscription (Kanopy)\, which is available to all patrons 
 as well as free online access to the NY Times\, and free passes to art\, 
 history\, and nature institutions in Downeast Maine\, were all funded 
 through the Friends.\n\nBut that’s not all! Through our fundraising 
 efforts but also the generous support of our members\, the library can book 
 artists for its beloved series of Wednesday Night Family Performances 
 during summer\, create year-round programs for adults and youth\, and 
 afford supplementary supplies and equipment.\n\nAttending one of our 
 monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at the library at 3 
 PM is the best way to learn more about our work and get to know us. All are
